Online Roulette

A guide to online roulette

Low Stake Roulette

The modern game of roulette was created in 18th century France, although it can actually trace its roots back even further to a variety of French, English and Italian pastimes. This thrilling game remained largely unchanged for more than two centuries until the arrival of the internet.

As casino fans increasingly demanded a way to play their favourite titles at a time and place that suited them, online roulette games quickly began to spring up all over the place. However, many of these newcomers introduced radical changes to the old rules – adding extra pockets, additional wheels and even bonus spins. Amid this backdrop, it was inevitable that a new generation of games would emerge that took online roulette back to basics.

Online roulette returns to its roots

One of the pioneers in this gaming revolution was Low Stake Roulette. The premise behind this game was simple – let players enjoy a traditional game of roulette online, but with the added incentive that it allowed you to make incredibly low bets. You can bet as little as a penny on a spin of the wheel on Low Stake Roulette. There is even a Demo Mode that will not cost you a thing.

Although it has radically reduced the cost of playing online roulette, Low Stake Roulette still offers an authentic version of this iconic casino game. The rules of Low Stake Roulette are exactly the same as the game you may have played in a land-based casino.

Online roulette explained

The online roulette table is simple enough to understand – there are 37 pockets, split between red, black and green (for 0). However, many gamers feel intimidated by the sheer range of betting options on offer, even though it is actually very simple when you take a closer look. Indeed, there are only 2 types of betting allowed on online roulette:

  • Inside bets – These are bets placed on individual numbers or group of numbers. If you think the ball will land on number one, or on either one or two, you need to place an inside bet.
  • Outside bets – These are bets placed on categories of numbers. If you think the ball will land on red, or on an even number, you need to place an outside bet.

Online roulette is a fantastic game and one that is incredibly easy to get the hang of. Give it a go and you'll be amazed at how much fun you'll have.
